Believing is Seeing

Saturday, February 8th - Woke up early, having received a text from Debbie with a pic of the flower arrangement we had sent for the funeral.  It was NOT the arrangement we had selected and paid for.  I decided she must have gotten it mixed up with another arrangement.  I text her to let her know I was thinking of them and keeping them in my prayers.  Later, Tiffany, Valerie, and I, having decided that we were not happy with the flowers for Constance, decided to complain.  Tiffany did the calling since she knows how flower shops operate.  It turned out that the flower shop "outsources them" and said they couldn't really do anything about our situation.  They did file our complaint with the outsource shop, who did nothing other than remind us that they filled it to "value" because they didn't have what we had ordered.  DUH!  We ordered the "Peaceful WHITE Lilies" arrangement and ended up getting four PURPLE lilies that were closed, and pink carnations. The carnations looked naked and out of place, because there was such little green background filler.  Many of the carnations were also not open.  It looked cheap and unfitting for such a reverent occasion.  Finally, the original florist called back, apologizing, and volunteering to reimburse the $20 shipping fee.  That was appreciated but the flowers were a huge disappointment to us.  We apologized to Debbie about it later.  She laughed and said they actually were attractive and very much appreciated by Zach and his family.  Tiff, Val, and I agreed on a plant that we think Debbie and Zach will enjoy in their own home.  We will order it at a later date when they are home and the snow storms are no longer threatening!
Rick went to Lehi donuts this morning!  That made us a little happier!  :0)
Today was B's Birthday party.  Some of Tiff's and Val's kids here have been sick this week, so no one was able to go for fear of spreading the cold germs.  Tiff had suggested that, instead of me going out to the party, we could have a sort of "make-up" party later in the week.  Steve and Suzanne had already  planned for some of her family to come to the party, so decided against Tiffany's idea.  I wasn't crazy about getting out in the cold night air, but I didn't want to miss being with B at his party. I had already decided to get him a pillow pet, so I was able to do some quick shopping at Walmart.  The pillow pets were not in the toy aisles, but I was able to find them in the kid's bedding department.  I found the cutest little brown puppy, and was able to go right to a cashier who was waiting to help out.  Went to Steve and Suzanne's for the party.  When I saw several cars there, I decided to wear a nose/mouth mask just to be on the safe side.  At first, Annika and B didn't recognize me but warmed up to me pretty quickly.  I didn't stay long as I get tired easily now, but did have a good time.  I'm not sure B knew what the pillow pet was when he opened the bag, but he sure LOVED the toy dinosaurs from his mommy and daddy!
